Big Hat 3

There is a pond near our house. In the winter, many people are out there walking their dogs in all kinds of weather. What if people walked their dragons the same way?
When I was young, hats were important. Not the stupid ass, meshed back, one size fits all and looks good on nobody baseball travesties, but HATS. Felt, fine, fitted. Men and women both. This painting represents too the importance of a good hat to good grooming and it is a tribute to the older women of the day when they used to get gussied up just to go out shopping or, hey, walking the dragon.

Tall Tree

TheĀ backpacker in the foreground is either blissfully unaware of the dragon Tall Tree in the background or he is aware and is not at all concerned. Maybe it’s his travelling companion. Whatever. It was fun to do.

Dragon Skin Dragon’s Kin

They pair riders with dragons when the child is young and the dragon old. Youthful vigor and openness paired with ancient knowledge and patience.
I love the texture of dragon skin. Not the smooth fish scales, but the bumpy, knobby, wrinkly stuff.

Eavesdroppers

They met every morning in front of the ruined abbey those two old biddies. They whispered and cackled and snuck peeks into the big sack and then cackled some more. It made the dragons of the abbey more and more curious.
